State ANZAC Day Dawn Service

State ANZAC Day Dawn Service

The ANZAC Day Dawn Service Combined Committee (ADDSCC) will be conducting a traditional dawn service in ANZAC Square Brisbane on Saturday April 25 to commemorate the centenary of the first allied landings at Gallipoli Cove. The service will commence at 4:28 am to coincide with the time of the first landing and conclude at approximately 5:15 am. In attendance will be our Patron the Governor of Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, who will be the keynote speaker. In anticipation of increased interest and attendance this year, the ceremony will also be simulcast on big screens located in Post Office Square and King George Square. It is recommended that those wishing to attend at any location should arrive no later than 4:00 am to avoid disappointment. TransLink and QRail will provide free transport to veterans and their families arriving to Central Station no later than 4:00 am.

The ANZAC Day Dawn Service Combined Committee is hosting a community breakfast including a sausage sizzle in Queen Street between Edward and Creek Streets, commencing after the Dawn Service and concluding at 7:30 am. Approximately 20 food and beverage outlets manned by Brisbane Lions Clubs will have tea, coffee and food available for a gold coin donation.
