Spring Sounds at Sunset
Pack the picnic basket and gather up your gig-loving pals – Brisbane Powerhouse is turning it on this November for Spring Sounds at Sunset, a weekend of free live music that is sure to get you moving and grooving. As the sun falls over the city each evening, a triple-bill line-up of some of Brisbane’s best musos will fill the air with an enchanting mix of jazz, blues, folk and world music. It all kicks off on Friday November 12, which will see Marcello Milani and Richard Grantham take the stage, followed by indie-folk singer LT, jazz ensemble TRICHOTOMY and country-folk singer-songwriter Danny Widdicombe.
The rest of the weekend is nothing short of musical magic too, with a top-notch roster of artists sure to put you in a good mood. Saturday November 13 will see blues rocker Dusty Miles entertain tune chasers, while rising jazz star Kayleigh Pincott and gypsy-jazz outfit Cigany Weaver will turn it up to 11. Rounding out three days of stellar serenading on Sunday November 14 is Balkan and Mediterranean world music trio East of West, Indigenous R&B artist Chris Tamwoy and dynamite blues duo Hussy Hicks. Oh, and did we mention tastebud-tantalising food trucks will line the Performance Lawn? Yep, all of your senses will be satisfied at this sunset event.
Spring Sounds at Sunset is a completely free event held on the Performance Lawn at Brisbane Powerhouse from November 12–14. For more information, head over to the Brisbane Powerhouse website.
* Due to BOM weather forecast, Friday’s event will be held inside Brisbane Powerhouse on the Turbine Platform, with drinks and food available for purchase from Bar Alto. No registration required.
