Special Escape the Crowds for Black History Month

Special Escape the Crowds for Black History Month

To celebrate Black History Month, Brisbane Square Library is holding a special reading of the The Legends of Moonie Jarl, written by Wilf Reeves and illustrated by his sister Olga Miller.

The Legends of Moonie Jarl was the first book of Aboriginal stories authored by Aboriginal people and was published in 1964. It is a collection of 12 traditional stories of the people from Fraser Island and the adjacent mainland around Hervey Bay. Join us in celebration of this book’s 50 year anniversary and recent republication through a special children’s story time.

This free event is ideal for children aged 4 – 10 years old. Contact the Brisbane Square to register.
