The Sound Society Roma Street Parkland – April

Returning to Brisbane’s tropical inner-city oasis on the first Sunday of every month in 2021, The Sound Society embraces the true meaning of ‘easy like a Sunday morning’. Unwind to great tunes and good company all in the stunning sub-tropical surrounds of the Roma Street Parkland. This April you can move and groove along to an electrifying live set from Amy & Her Vipers, a local swingin’ gypsy jazz ensemble known for its toe-tapping melodies and larger-than-life stage presence (they are a six-piece outfit, after all!).

The Sound Society is the ideal place to pull out a picnic rug and enjoy the beauty of live music – the dreamy combo of smooth tunes, delicious eats and lush greenery is pretty hard to beat! Bring your friends, your pooch or even come alone – whichever you prefer, you are sure to have a delightful morning that will soon become your regular Sunday outing. This month’s edition of The Sound Society also coincides with Roma Street Parkland’s 20th birthday, where you can enjoy a range of exciting events and activations reflecting on the precinct’s evolution and history.

Taking place on Banyan Lawn, the event also includes the option to pre-order a picnic hamper from the Parkland’s esteemed grazing ground, The Garden Room Café. Hampers include an appetising assortment of home-made dips, cured deli meats and farmhouse cheeses, washed down with a glass or two of vino. Concert-goers are welcome to pack their own spread and tipple of choice with the area being licensed from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, or The Garden Room Café is also open for dine-in service.
