Soleil Pool Bar’s Garden Tea

Soleil Pool Bar’s Garden Tea

While the British might have been onto something when they invented High Tea in the late 19th century, they didn’t for a minute believe an award-winning Queenslander would break the tradition, and carry out, shall we say, some finely tuned renovations on the time-honoured formula of delicately decorated cakes on tiered stands, tea in fine bone china, ribbon sandwiches and perhaps a sneaky glass of Champagne.

Rocking the establishment, poolside no less, and from the creators of the acclaimed Bacchus High Tea comes a new experience for Brisbane – Soleil Pool Bar’s Garden Tea.

Call it the new etiquette of afternoon delights, Soleil Pool Bar has said goodbye to history and hello to a uniquely different afternoon delight, steeped in relaxed Queensland style that takes day to night, and is the perfect gathering call for the blokes and the ladies.

So, what’s the difference between a Garden Tea and a High Tea, you ask? Well, take out the tea for a start and replace it with Champagne or a Craft Beer, add a plate of bang-on-trend snacks served on a custom–created platter that is a replica of the Soleil Pool itself, complete with astro-turf, and the picture starts to take place. Add a posse of friends and the moment is complete.

Garden Tea at Soleil Pool Bar is meant to be relaxed and shared with friends, under Queensland’s famous big skies, beside the pool, with the sounds of the city muted into the background.

Bringing the afternoon experience together is the starters Garden Tea ($32) – a range of small plate offerings featuring Salt & pepper calamari, Black Angus beef slider, Battered onion rings, Fried chicken slider, Mini donuts, & Sweet potato fries (df) (v)

For those seeking some individual expression, and overall menu garden party goodness, it’s about what you sip. Take bold inspiration from the Brew Garden Tea ($38), featuring the Garden Tea menu served with a 4 Pines Kolsch or American Pale Ale.

For lovers of a light libation, there’s the Pimm’s No.1 Garden Tea ($42) served with, you guessed it, a refreshing Pimm’s No.1 or sparkle with the Veuve Garden Tea ($55). If a signature punch bowl or carafe is more your accompaniment – try the Soleil Signature Garden Tea ($40).

It’s no secret that Soleil Pool Bar is the centre of Brisbane’s social calendar, shining brightly as the standalone Brisbane meeting place. Great food and drink, impeccable service and a glamorous setting any time of day is truly special. Take a seat in the main bar area, find a cosy hideout or soak up the sun on the pool deck and get your Garden Tea party on.
