Scattered People Charity Film Screening

Scattered People Charity Film Screening

Local health non-profits QPASTT (Queensland Program of Assistance for Survivors of Torture and Trauma) and World Wellness Group are hosting a charity film screening of Scattered People to raise vital funds for healthcare and medication for people seeking asylum living in our community. The screening will start from 6.30pm on 28 July 2021 at New Farm Cinemas, 701 Brunswick Street.

Through the eyes and hearts of two Iranian musicians, Scattered People is a story about the healing power of music, bringing together people, cultures and countries while exploring Australians’ attitudes towards people seeking asylum. Scattered People is about the power of music to create change and restore hope and also features Archie Roach • John Butler • Missy Higgins • GANGgajang • Katie Noonan • Michael Franti • Dan Sultan • Baker Boy, and The Cat Empire.

Join us to raise funds for this very important cause and a night of storytelling that has been described as:

“a powerful piece of work… ”
“terribly moving and educative… alive and urgent with compassion…”
“One of the most important documentaries that has come out in the past couple of years…”

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s producers John and Lizzi Swatland.

100% of funds raised go to support people seeking asylum living in the community to access healthcare and medication.
