Royal Run for Research
With a brand new starting point, the 27th annual Royal Run for Research continues to be Brisbane’s longest-running fun runs. The event is held to raise funds for Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH). The Run/Walk is organised by RBWH’s Physiotherapy Department in conjunction with the hospital’s charity arm, RBWH Foundation. It is known for being a ‘friendly’ event and participants can choose to take part in either the 8 km run or 6 km walk.
This year the new course will loop the CBD and South Bank precinct of the Brisbane River, starting and finishing at Queensland University of Technology, Gardens Point campus. The Royal Run for Research is one of the cheapest charity runs in Brisbane and is also at a great time for those prepping for the Bridge to Brisbane. All money raised from the Run/Walk will be used to fund clinical research, purchase vital pieces of equipment and help fund specialised training for doctors, nurses and other medical practitioners at Queensland’s largest and busiest hospital, RBWH. Head to the RBWH Foundation website to view all the details.
