Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Ross’ recent body of work is created to tell stories. There is an inherent stillness to his paintings, regardless if the horizon is flooded with storm clouds, Ross’ paintings capture a moment in time that radiates serenity. Working off the phrase, ‘don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story’, Ross constructs a mixture of seemingly perfect places and events, but like all good stories, not everything is as it seems …
