‘Retrospection, an exhibition’ brings together five Brisbane based female image-makers who often look to the past to make sense of their place in the world in ways that are simultaneously methodical and melancholic. In combining elements of contemporary technological advancements with the analogue familiarity of old, these artists reinvent and play with various interpretations of the world through their respective photographic practices. These insights are deeply personal and encourage considered reflection, while paying homage to the small and seemingly innocuous moments that are fleeting, yet worth capturing. ‘Retrospection, an exhibition’ will be exhibiting from Wednesday November 4 to Sunday November 15 at White Canvas Gallery.
