Renga – Masayo Yasuki and Georgina Hooper
Drawing together the collaborative work of Brisbane artist Georgina Hooper with Japanese fashion designer and owner of Dogstar, Masayo Yasuki, Renga is a must-see Brisbane event.
The exhibition will feature Hooper’s delicate rice paper and watercolour paintings and the textiles developed from these artworks by Yasuki for Dogstar’s 2016 Spring Collection. Masayo Yasuki has also developed two unique fashion pieces especially for this event.
The proceeds of one of Hooper’s artworks will be donated to the University of Queensland’s Heron Island Marine Research Station, which conducts vital research about the Great Barrier Reef and climate change.
Renga is an exhibition of vibrant, jewel-like paintings inspired by Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, floating silk and linen fabrics and a night of champagne and elegant fashion design.
The exhibition times are as follows:
Tuesday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Thursday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm
Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
