Remote Trekking in the Himalaya with Tim Macartney-Snape

For those interested in exploring the less trodden trails of Nepal, this night is for you.

Tim Macartney-Snape is Australia’s best known mountaineer and the first Australian to summit Mount Everest – a feat he accomplished twice, the second time solo.

Having returned to the Himalaya almost every year since his first expedition in 1978, Tim has combined his natural talent for ‘reading the country’ with his passion for finding new routes that connect him with the captivating people and landscapes of the Himalayan foothills, high valleys, peaks and passes.

Throughout his presentation, jam packed with incredible stories and imagery from the Himalaya, Tim will inspire you to join him on next adventures – the Mardi Himal Exploratory Trek. Set along the remote and pristine trails of the Annapurna Region, where very few have explored before, this is a once in a lifetime experience that is almost difficult to put into words. Expect fantastic hiking, weeks on the trail often without seeing another trekking party, full immersion in spectacular scenery, delicious food and cooking from the local crew, heroic and heart-warming porters, and most notably, a terrific leader.

I can’t say enough in admiration of Tim’s energy, skill, fitness, and personality. Every day he was out in front finding a route, guiding us through difficult terrain, finding stream crossings, fixing ropes, running ahead to find water, a lunch spot, the best campsite. It was really impressive and he is a remarkable man. So thank you and I thank Tim for a once-in-a-lifetime, never-to-be-forgotten trip. Trekker on Tim’s 2016 Api Himal Exploratory

Whether you are a seasoned trekker or considering your first foray into the Himalaya, Tim will both enthral and inspire you to take the next step towards your own Himalayan adventure.
