Redcliffe Art Society Artists Demonstrations


Visit Redcliffe Art Gallery on Saturday mornings from 30 July to 27 August to meet artists from the Redcliffe Art Society and experience artist demonstrations. While observing the artists in action, feel free to ask questions about their creative practice!

This demonstration series is in conjunction with the exhibition Redcliffe Art Society, Exhibition of Excellence 2022, celebrating the rich artistic community within the Redcliffe region.

Saturday 30 July, 10:30-11:30am – Acrylics with Robert Taberner
Robert is a tutor at the Redcliffe Art Society, and was the RASart overall winner in 2013. He is experienced in oil and acrylic painting and surface preparation and likes to explore emotions and ideas around the notion of ‘place’.

Saturday 6 August, 10:30-11:30am – Oil paints with Julie Purcell
Julie is an emerging local artist and was the RASart overall winner in 2021. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours through the Queensland College of Art. Her practice fuses painting, textile printing and fashion design to express suburban spirit.

Saturday 13 August, 10:30-11:30am – Watercolours with Yoriko Fleming
Yoriko was the RASart overall winner in 2019. Since moving to Australia in 2003 from Japan, she has tutored in watercolour and drawing at the U3A in Redcliffe and illustrated a children’s book.

Saturday 20 August, 10:30-11:30am – Charcoal and pastels on textured canvas with Tricia Reust
Tricia is a Master Pastellist with the Pastel Society of Australia and a life member of the Redcliffe Art Society. She has written books and instructional videos on different art techniques and taught throughout Australia and overseas.

Saturday 27 August, 10:30-11:30am – Oil paints with Barry Kidd
Barry’s reputation as an artist of note has evolved over the last 30 plus years. Since moving to Redcliffe in 1998 Barry has won 8 years in succession the landscape award at the Redcliffe Art Society.
