RBWH History Series: Part 1

RBWH History Series: Part 1

Did you know that the first dialysis treatment ever performed in Australia was at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital? Or that the cure to QFever was developed at the same very site? Royal Alumni invites you to discover the fascinating and pioneering history of health care and education at RBWH. Since the hospital first opened on the Herston site in 1867, RBWH has been a hub for medical research and the development of novel treatment methods. As we approach the hospital’s 150 year anniversary in 2017, Royal Alumni is shining the spotlight on some of these innovations and the amazing people behind them through “RBWH History Series”.

Part I of the Royal Alumni’s “RBWH History Series” will be held on Tuesday September 15 at the RBWH Education Centre. With five fascinating presentations planned, the Royal Alumni are re-opening closed doors that hide the moments and marvels which have changed history, health care and education in Brisbane. Head to the RBWH Facebook page for further details and updates.
