Aspire Gallery’s annual small Pieces Competition is back for 2020! If the difficulty our team had in selecting finalists was anything to go by, we are sure this has got to be the best year yet!

With a background in industrial and interior design – an industry that linked the creative and commercial – the vision of Aspire Gallery’s director, Donagh Mengel, was to create an award that encouraged and rewarded artists that looked at their art as a business. Open to national and international artists, entrants may submit work of all mediums (including three-dimensional works and photography) up to 50 cm in height, length and width.

Whilst many art competitions focus on technique, judging for Petite Pieces looks to promote other aspects of an artist’s career that are just as important – from branding, to creativity/innovation, to commercial capacity.

The 2020 Petite Pieces Competition will be held from February 21 to March 14, Fridays and Saturdays 10:30 am to 4:30 pm (over four weekends).

Throughout the exhibition period, the public is also encouraged to vote for their favourite.
