Peaks to Points – Week One Highlights

The Peaks to Points Festival is a biennial, regional, environmental festival that celebrates the natural areas on the south side of the Brisbane River from Flinders Peak in the west, to the points of Moreton Bay – Point Halloran, Wellington Point and Victoria Point. The festival aims to raise awareness of the importance of the creeks and natural areas of the region.

This year, there will be a treasure chest of kid-friendly events on offer including bushwalks, bird spotting, tree plantings, eco tours, orienteering and much more. The festival fun will kick off with a bang at the Family Day on Sunday July 18, which will feature live entertainment, food trucks, kids activities and environmental stallholders. There will be a Queensland Urban Utilities Water Warriors Show, free kids arts and crafts hosted by Messy Play Co & Face Painting and a plant workshop with Little Green Thumbs where rugrats can get their hands dirty. Ocean Crusaders will even be hosting canoeing and kayaking along the Oxley Creek. Plus, you won’t go hungry with a culinary line-up of burgers, pizza, pho, ice-cream, coffee and more set to impress your tastebuds.

So you can dive deep into the natural wonders of the region, the festivities continue across the fortnight with plenty to tackle in week one. Spot wildlife on a guided eco-walk, go for a birdwatching walk around the Sergeant Dan Stiller Memorial Reserve, go paddling in the coastal surrounds of Shorncliffe, learn how to build a birds-nest box, or do some planting at Conondale Park. To see the complete program, visit the Peaks to Points Festival website.

Peaks to Points Festival is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council.
