Omar Sosa returns to Brisbane Powerhouse with his singular fusion of AfroCuban Latin jazz and cutting edge effects and samples, creating a brilliantly joyous and thoroughly contemporary urban sound.

Sosa’s career embodies the expansive outlook of a visionary artist, working ceaselessly to craft a unique, cosmopolitan voice, earning seven GRAMMY nominations along the way, as well as a lifetime achievement award from the Smithsonian for his contributions to the development of Latin jazz in the United States.

Sosa’s performance in Brisbane will include a mix of material from his recent CD, ILE, and a number of his signature compositions, including My Three Notes, and Muevete en D.  Throughout the show, Sosa features his trademark mix of Fender Rhodes electric piano and acoustic grand piano.

 Join us for this celebrated composer and pianist as he takes the stage with his Quarteto AfroCubano, and treats us to forward-leaning interpretations of some of the classic Cuban styles the world has come to admire.
