Designed to mesmerise and enthral, the 11th annual Ocean Film Festival World Tour is comprised of sublime footage taken above and below the water’s surface.
This unique collection of short films from around the globe document the beauty and power of the ocean, and celebrate the divers, surfers, swimmers and oceanographers who live for the sea’s salt spray; who chase the crests of waves; and who marvel at the mysteries of the big blue. The films feature captivating cinematography, complete with awe-inspiring underwater scenes and fast-paced wave sequences that have been captured from unbelievable vantage points.
This year, renowned solo sailor and world-record holder, Lisa Blair, hailing from the Queensland, is set to be the star of the Ocean Film Festival World Tour. Lisa Blair’s exceptional narrative, featured prominently in the festival’s lineup, centres around her daring solo expedition in the film Ice Maiden. In this gripping story, she attempts the unparalleled feat of becoming the first woman to sail solo, non-stop, and unassisted around Antarctica, a treacherous journey that tests human endurance amidst the unpredictable Southern Ocean conditions.
