Nu-Disco!
Nu-Disco! is a new one-woman show written and performed by Ellen Marning, exploring one woman’s experience at a club over the course of an evening. Expect to be whisked away on a journey where time stretches and condenses in the clubs, a rowdy and riotous metaphor for where Trinity is at in her life. Late 20s, confused, horny, lonely, full of bravado, full of questions, full of rage she can’t quite place – Nu-Disco! is a celebration of the highs and an examination of the lows that can go along with these spaces and how we reconcile our fears, joys, grievances and rage in the body.
With direction by Laura McAloney, dramaturgy by Bronte Charlotte and sound design by Robert Downie, this debut performance is sure to meet expectations and ring true for those who have forged through their late 20s themselves and have strolled out the other side.
Warning: Potentially triggering content and themes, including drug and alcohol use, sexual assault, violence against women, and toxic masculinity.
