Now is the Time

Now is the Time

Calling all kids! Raquel Ormella invites children to speak up about climate change and the environment in her upcoming exhibition at the Children’s Art Centre at GOMA.

Now is the Time will highlight Australia’s long history of environmental activism with a timeline featuring historical photos and posters. The exhibition also includes two videos made in collaboration with Junction Park State School students. In these videos, the students perform protest songs and share their views about climate action with the artist. In the exhibition space, children can design a protest t-shirt and watch their message come to life in an animated protest scene, while listening to a playlist of protest music.

This environmentally-charged exhibition will run from Friday August 7, 2020 to Tuesday January 26, 2021. Please note due to COVID-19 restrictions entry to the Children’s Art Centre is limited to 30 people at one time.

So you don’t miss out on experiencing all of this cultural goodness and more, QAGOMA is operating a free time-entry ticket system. QAG is currently open to a limited number of visitors from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and GOMA will open to a limited number of visitors from Friday August 7.
