Brisbane-based animator, Chris Denaro, will be hosting an exhibition of his work, entitled Nocturne, at The Hold Artspace from February 18 to 21. The exhibition will showcase Chris’s work with physical stop motion and digital motion graphics in an attempt to convey how conventions of place are affected and overlaid by history, memory and imagination.

Chris’s animation style pushes the boundaries and held conceptions of what is real and imaginary finding a middle point where his work embodies fantastical imagery with realistic messages. Hypnotic repetition breeds anxiety and hypnotic beauty in this inventive exhibition.
