NewBARKet Dog Festival
Following the success of its inaugural year, NewBARKet Dog Festival is returning with an entire festival dedicated to your poochy friend.
On June 8, Newmarket village will host Brisbane’s first canine circus, alongside the popular dog parade. Think your pup has got something special to flaunt? The parade incudes categories such as: messiest bed head, most muscly dog and best costume. If you want to see a bunch of hula-ing dogs then head to the circus zone, full of ball pits and hula hoops. The event will have its own pet physic ‘Madame Dogma,’ hosting paw, crystal and energic readings.
After some play time, guests can sit down for wellness talks by Mind Body and Bowl and Adoption Walk ‘n’ Talks with Happy Tails Animal Rescue and Hear No Evil Australia. Dress your pet for success with the cutest outfits and toys from the Woof Market, with stalls from new and crowd-favourite brands.
To remember the day out, attendees can snap a poochy-pic taken by the event’s dedicated Pupparazzi. The free event will have a DJ, heaps of prizes and giveaways and treats for pups and humans to enjoy.
NewBARKet is a free event and open to all from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Registrations for the dog parade and Pupparazzi are encouraged. All dogs welcome, however they must be on leads.
