Join the feasting at Merthyr Village on Monday May 6 (public holiday) at the fourth annual New Farm Deli Long Lunch. Enjoy an afternoon staycation in Brisbane’s’ very own ‘little Italy’ with a traditional long table lunch paired with delicious drinks, authentic music and dancing till the sun goes down.

The four-course, family-style feast commences at 11:00 am with a refreshing Aperol in hand and antipasto Caprese platter to share on arrival, followed by pasta two ways paired with a glass of red or white wine.

Changing things up on previous years, the New Farm Deli kitchen will then dish up an Italian-style Carne dish with rustic vegetables and salad paired with a glass of wine before concluding the feast with a sweet Dolci special.

The New Farm Deli Long Lunch isn’t just about food – it’s one of the most popular social events on the New Farm calendar. A traditional live Italian band will entertain from the outdoor stage during lunch itself, playing folk songs and covers of Italian classics to get revellers singing along. Throughout the day guests can also take part in a charity raffle to go in the running to win prizes from Merthyr Village favourites and friends.

Once the feasting is over the festivities continue with dancing and drinking until sundown with crowd favourites Franky Smart Band on dance-floor duties.
