‘Never Sorry' – An Evening of Activism

‘Never Sorry’ – An Evening of Activism

Come along to an evening of activism featuring an exclusive screening of Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry, plus the opportunity to participate in Amnesty International’s biggest global campaign of the year – Write for Rights, as well as live music performed by Hawkmoon’s Pat Hehir.

The Action
Write for Rights is Amnesty’s global letter writing campaign, where the world joins together to write letters and make a difference. Last year, in record numbers, we campaigned for people like Moses Akatuga in Nigeria, who had been sentenced to death aged 16 for stealing three phones. Following intensive campaigning from Amnesty International supporters across the globe, Moses was issued a full pardon by the Nigerian State Governor.

The Movie
‘Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry’ is the inside story of a dissident for the digital age who inspires global audiences and blurs the boundaries of art and politics. First-time director Alison Klayman gained unprecedented access to Ai while working as a journalist in China. Her detailed portrait provides a nuanced exploration of contemporary China and one of its most compelling public figures.

The Music
Part rockstar, part activist: Pat Hehir will be performing an acoustic solo set on the night, kicking off from 5:30 pm.

Entry is a gold coin donation. For more information or to RSVP head to the Facebook event page.
