Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of local communities held in the last week of March each year. It’s a great day to touch base with your neighbours and help create a strong, safe community where people look out for each other.

You could simply say hello to your neighbour and have a chat over the fence or invite your neighbour over for a cup of tea. You could even arrange a larger neighbourhood social gathering like a BBQ or a picnic in your local park.

Other opportunities to connect with your neighbours in Brisbane include joining a local community garden and composting hub, being part of the community conservation program and volunteering at Council’s environment centres.
