Brisbane Quarter has transformed into an enchanting realm of fantasy and fun. This home of international cuisine and indulgent experiences is welcoming the installation Nearly Midnight from acclaimed local artist Rachel Burke until 27 March 2024.
In celebration of QAGOMA’s Fairy Tales, Brisbane Quarter brings the world of Cinderella to life with Rachel Burke’s eye-catching and large scale works of gleaming silvers and blues, handcrafted in mesmerising metallic sculptures. Rachel’s art is accompanied by themed drinks and bites, dedicated to the world of this timeless tale.
With Nearly Midnight, 300 George Street is reborn as an enchanted forest of shimmering blue and silver tinsel with a larger-than-life, two-metre-high sparkly slipper as the exhibit’s bedazzled mirrorball focal point on Podium 1. Aglow with more than one million miniature glass tiles, the Nearly Midnight slipper offers an otherworldly experience that reimagines an ordinary day in The City into a magical.
