MUMGARR* (mend/sewn): Retaining First Nation’s adornment workshop with Chantal Henley
Join textile designer Chantal Henley in this weaving adornment workshop that highlights the significance of retaining First Nations design fundamentals and how those techniques continue to inspire and survive many mainstream trends, fads and fictions.
Participants will work under Chantal’s guidance to create one-off woven adornments translated through sustainable resources and techniques.
*MUMGARR (sewn/mend) is from the Yugambeh language group of South East Queensland & the Bundjalung language group of Northern New South Wales. Spelling may vary in some communities.
