The Motorcycle Virtual Events

If you’re yet to visit (or re-visit) The Motorcycle at QAGOMA, you’ll be happy to learn that you can now get a taste of the high-octane action from the comforts of home with some revved-up virtual events filling up the calendar.

Cure your curiosity and gather your brainiac bike-loving mates for a night of motorcycle trivia hosted by Isolation Trivia host Aimon Clark, where you’ll learn some chopper-centric facts as you compete for tickets to the exhibition plus cool moto-merch from the QAGOMA Store. Other exciting happenings include a virtual book club discussing the 2013 novel The Flamethrowers, a discussion with homegrown motorcycle adventurer, author and speaker Heather Ellis about her book Ubuntu: One Woman’s Motorcycle Odyssey Across Africa and a live-streamed conversation with author, reviewer and pulp scholar Andrew Nette, who will take thrill-seekers on a journey through the different representations of the motorcycle in youth and pop-culture history.

Proving that bikes aren’t just for the blokes, there will be a special International Women’s Day event with an all-female panel who are changing the image of riding, and a live-streamed edition PechaKucha, where you can hear from Brisbane’s best-and-brightest creative thinkers as they discuss the theme of ‘journey’.
