Mother’s Day High Tea at Shingle Inn City Hall

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a high tea at the oldest and most loved cafe in Brisbane, Shingle Inn.

Established in 1936, Shingle Inn originally opened as a tea house and restaurant on Edward Street, Brisbane. Instantly developing a strong reputation with locals, Shingle Inn became a busy landmark renowned for its all-day menu, delicious coffee, high-tea, decadent sweet treats and famous cakes.

In 2002, Brisbane was devastated to hear the news that their most loved café was being forced to close down to make way for city re-developments. The shopfit was carefully photographed and de-constructed, with the spectacular interior remaining in storage until the beloved restaurant could be reopened. Today, the oldest and most loved café in Brisbane now exists restored within another Brisbane icon, City Hall, allowing future generations to experience the grandeur of Shingle Inn as it was over 80 years ago.

Generations of families since 1936 have celebrated and shared memorable occasions at Shingle Inn. Celebrate this Mother’s Day with High Tea at Shingle Inn City Hall. There are three sittings available on the day; Breakfast, Morning and Afternoon High Tea options. Each accompanied by a glass of Pol Roger.
