MoB Kids: Young Creatives-in-Residence


Aspiring artists and designers get hands-on to create their own artworks at Museum of Brisbane’s Young Creatives-in-Residence holiday program for young people aged 8–13 years. Young Creatives arrive at 9:30 am and stay til 4:00 pm for a jam-packed day of arts activities and fun with the Museum’s dedicated Education team.

Mon 18 Sep – FRESH AND FRUITY STAMPS
Experiment with fruits and vegetables to make hand-made stamps.

Tue 19 Sep – SURVIVAL STORIES
Taken on a journey with the Yerongpan Dancers into the Indigenous food stories of the Brisbane region and learn traditional survival techniques.

Wed 20 Sep – MAKEY MAKEY FOOD TECH
Did you know that a banana can conduct electricity? We’ll be using a Makey Makey kit to turn everyday food items into a keyboard to explore art, science and technology.

Thu 21 Sep – FELT FRIENDS
Inspired by Sean Rafferty’s Cartonographer artworks, you will create your very own hand-made food friends from felt.

Fri 22 Sep – CRAZY COLLAGE
Create your own art journal using a collaged landscape of food inspired by Tastes like Sunshine artist Elizabeth Willing.

$80 per day or $350 for five days. Buy 3 days get 1 free. Bookings essential.
