Mini Simmons Debut Australian Tour

New Zealand’s Mini Simmons return with their electrifying third offering A Way With Murder. The new single is off their forthcoming debut album set for release later this year.

A Way With Murder explores flirtatious pop sounds and diverse rhythms, bringing the ultimate groove. Tracked in two day slots, the single was recorded in The main room at The Lab Studio, Mount Eden.

By taking the recording out of the bedroom of past releases and into a full recording studio the band discovered a more mature and melodically confident sound. Engineered & mixed by Olly Harmer the band’s debut album will be released in May 2019. It takes their raw rustic sound and funnels it into a more melodic concoction, served on a plate of virile sexuality. It’s still barking Rock & Roll but there is a bite to it that’s jumping with fresh energy.

“This one is a nod to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Their no frills, don’t bore us get to the chorus approach really inspired the arrangement. Short, punchy sections driven by memorable vocal hooks. Compared to some early stuff we’d written it has much stronger melodies. Brad filled more and more of the lines with vocal harmonies. They’re a good counterweight to the pushing rhythm. We never really considered A Way With Murder a single but it’s got everything we stand for musically and I think it surprised us a bit in the end,” explains the band.

Now bringing their extroverted four piece masterpiece to Australia, the band will tour down the east coast for a truly special showcase. You can find them in Brisbane on April 24.
