Mind's Divide

Mind’s Divide

Brisbane based artists Ethan and Leonie Lam present an exhibition of artwork titled Mind’s Divide at Percolator Gallery. The focus of the exhibition is the human consciousness and the environment which attributes to its formation.

Mind’s Divide is an interdisciplinary exhibition which explores the personal and interpersonal cognitive internalisation of the human consciousness, examining the fundamental attributes that express the core of belonging. Dreams, memories and moments in time capture the essence of individuality and the significance each has in the formation of the psyche, acting as the building blocks of the external façade. Key to this is unlocking the driving force that fuels an inner self, always imminent but never exposed. A truth of life is that each person exists within their own reality that they create, in response to the environment that surrounds them, fostering a narrative marked by how the mind projects an underlying state of fluidity. The exhibition will investigate the intent and reactive nature that exists within artists’ response, exploring the dialogue that is prevalent between the process and outcomes of the compositions themselves.

Opening Night: Friday July 7 from 6:00–8:30 pm
