Following on from the Mesmerism Summer Festival in early 2015, the Judith Wright Centre and sonic artist Luke Jaaniste are hosting the Mesmerism Autumn Festival. These festivals have been created as part of Luke’s Fresh Ground residency at the Judith Wright Centre and involve two part performances combining sound and art installation to create an immersive experience. On May 8 and 9, Mesmerism will showcase works that utilise sonic effects including feedback and vocal loops, compositions made using six electric bass guitars and 1000W speakers, experimental and beat-based electronica and surround-sound rhythms. Tickets are available for individual nights and double night passes.
