Guests are invited to join the opening exhibition of S.A.M Matthews’ latest exhibition ‘Floral Poetry’ at Wild Canary Bistro.

Sam is a Brisbane-based emerging artist who intuitively creates vivid, joyful floral artworks painted in acrylic on canvas. Each artwork equally celebrates her love of nature and all colours!

Completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts at James Cook University, Sam then went on to have a very fulfilling career as a graphic artist and worked in the television industry for most her my adult life, but describes herself as a passionate painter at heart.

In her home, there is artwork and art materials strewn from the kitchen table to her humble little studio. Paintings at all stages lean against walls and she often wakes in the morning still covered in paint from the night before.

Since 2020 Sam has focused on growing her art practice and developing her own personal style. She regularly takes part in local and regional group exhibitions and recently was named a finalist in the Jumbled Art Superstar competition.

Sam’s first solo show at Wild Canary ‘Floral Poetry’ is the truest expression of all the beauty and escapism found in nature.

‘Floral Poetry’ will be on display from Tuesday 3rd May to Monday 6th June 2022.
