Medici Concerts: Imogen Cooper

Medici Concerts: Imogen Cooper

Internationally acclaimed pianist Imogen Cooper is regarded as one of the world’s finest interpreters of classical and romantic repertoire. She combines extraordinary musical insight with a consummate technique, her playing replete with impressionist illumination and elegant phrasing, ‘graceful, languid and dreamy … a singing purity in its melodic lines’.

She has appeared with many of the world’s top conductors and orchestras including the Berlin, Vienna, New York and London Philharmonics. A renowned chamber musician, she performs with the Belcea Quartet and has a long collaboration as a Lieder recitalist with Wolfgang Holzmair. Her extensive discography includes Mozart concertos, solo works and Lieder recitals.

Imogen Cooper’s Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert are particularly revered, her interpretive style and lyrical gracefulness reminiscent of her esteemed teacher Alfred Brendel. This will be a magnificent recital performed by one of the great connoisseurs of the keyboard.
