Luminous Lantern Parade 2019 is Queensland’s largest welcome event. The 12th annual Luminous Lantern Parade is held in the week of Queensland Day, the annual celebration to celebrate the State’s culture, heritage, people, places and industry.

Luminous is now established on the annual Queensland calendar as a show of welcome for new Queenslanders, including refugees, international students, people seeking asylum and migrants.

The parade features colourful lanterns of all sizes held by representatives from government, council, business and community groups and the broader Brisbane community celebrating our state’s great cultural diversity.

The parade is followed by cultural performances and activities in the Cultural Forecourt with range of food and beverage stalls with delicacies from around the world.
