A unique cinematic experience interweaving photography, film and live original music to share the tender stories so often brushed aside amongst the darkness of homelessness: a woman saved from suicide by her pet budgie; the unexpected love of strangers in the street; a baby born on the edge of homelessness.

These stories form the basis of a new work by award-winning journalist and filmmaker Trent Dalton, director of photography David Kelly, internationally renowned guitarist Karin Schaupp, ARIA nominated quintet Topology and Fortitude Valley’s 139 Club drop-in centre for Brisbane’s homeless and at-risk.

Love Stories reveals that amid the pain, loss, isolation and desperation on the streets there is often warmth, kindness, community and love.
