Lord Mayor’s Lighting of the Christmas Tree presented by The Lott by Golden Casket

This year, the Lighting of the Christmas Tree will be an held at King George Square and livestreamed via Brisbane City’s official Facebook page from 6:30–7:30 pm on Friday November 26. Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner will turn on the 22m-high Christmas tree’s twinkling lights accompanied by special Christmas musical performances to get you in the festive mood.

If you miss the official lighting of the tree, don’t fret! Once the tree is turned on, it will be proudly displayed in King George Square until January 6 for you to check out in real life (and maybe snap a cheeky selfie if you fancy). The tree is open to all and free to attend, with the lights on from 6:30 pm nightly.

Please observe social distancing and COVID-Safe practices at all times when attending Christmas in Brisbane events. Stay at home if you are feeling unwell, wash your hands regularly and download and use the Check In Queensland app.
