Lo Carmen in conversation with Andrew Stafford

Memoir meets cultural history. Two shining lights of the Australian music scene, Lo Carmen and Andrew Stafford sit down to unpack Lo’s breakthrough memoir.

In Lovers Dreamers Fighters, Lo weaves her own remarkable story into an exhilarating exploration of art, activism, feminism and rock’n’roll in the 1970s and 1980s.

Lo has lived a bigger life than most. From being backstage at a Rolling Stones gig when she was a baby to writing her first song at eight and performing originals onstage at nine. Forming her first band at twenty one, touring Europe without a manager or funds and all the while making music her life and art.

More recently she has earned critical acclaim as a solo artist, releasing seven albums, touring Australia and overseas. She has also published in The GuardianSydney Morning HeraldVogue, Meanjin and the Women of Letters collections.
