Lee Wilkes – Yellowcake
Lee Wilkes – Yellowcake, is a multidisciplinary exhibition of paintings, ceramics, installation and photography running from April 27 to May 6. The Mary Kathleen mine site, wayward of Mount Isa, is a catalyst for Lee’s dogged and thorough research on the landscape’s evolution and the impact human imprint has on the natural environment, even decades later.
Lee combines traditional oil paint with alternative materials as well taking on a method of repetition, reflection and abstraction to express a feeling of impermanence and transformation in his work.
