Lateo is the genre defying brainchild of Brisbane based drummer/percussionist and composer Joe Marchisella, who has worked across all genre’s of music both nationally and internationally, playing live and recording with a who’s who of Australian and International music on all continents including James Morrison, Ben Folds (USA), Grace Knight, Dale Barlow, Joe Chindamo, Marialy Pacheco (Cuba), Ernie Watts (USA), Mike Nock, Paul Grabowsky, The Queensland Orchestra, The Queensland Pops Orchestra, The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, The Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Jon English, Simon Gallaher, Sean Foran, Steve Newcomb, Isorhythmus, to name but a few, and brings this diversity to bear with this critically acclaimed new project: Lateo.

Lateo will take you on a musical journey not to be forgotten easily, playing cutting edge music delivered by accomplished, world class musicians in exciting, dynamic performances. Members of Lateo have also performed globally and nationally, as part of numerous festivals, including Jazzahead, Bremen, Germany 2014, Guangzhou International Music Festival, China 2013, Manila Jazz, Phillipines 2013, Adelaide Fringe Festival 2012, Darling Harbour Jazz Festival 2009, Queensland Music Festival 2004 – 2010, Melbourne International Jazz Festival 2012, Wangaratta Jazz Festival 2011, and many more…

Lateo will grace the Queen Street Mall Main Stage, for a free, single event, held in conjunction with the Brisbane International Jazz Festival.

The Brisbane International Jazz Festival has proudly unveiled its 2015 program, bringing together some of the finest talents in the genre from Norway, Poland, South Korea, Japan and more, as well as showcasing the best in home grown talent for the festival which takes over various locations in Brisbane from Wednesday June 3 to Monday June 8.
