Kokedama workshop at Biome

Kokedama workshop at Biome

Kokedama is the perfect way to include greenery in your home in a new exciting way! Kokedama is a plant ball made from moss, soil and twine. Combining skills from Japanese gardening, you will leave this workshop eager to make many more kokedama!

During this workshop you will learn everything you need to know to try your hand at the art of kokedama. As well as how to keep your plants healthy once you take them home. You will be introduced to a variety of plant species appropriate for your kokedama, as well as how to create growing mixtures and mediums most suitable for succulents and indoor plants. With this knowledge, you will be equipped to make more successful kokedama in the future at home. Perfect for sharing with friends, or as thoughtful and sustainable Christmas gifts! The workshop will finish up with a neat twine demonstration, so you can wrap your kokedama in the traditional Japanese style. All tools and materials are provided. Participants take home two small kokedama balls and their twine hanging. Tickets also includes ten per cent off Biome in-store purchases on the day.

Your facilitator is Bella, a plant-obsessed Brisbane local who has been active in the gardening scene for over 5 years! Leaving Architecture to pursue greener horizons, she has been obsessed with plants ever since! She has taught over 15 different classes to over 5000 individuals across Australia and hopes to continue sharing her plant knowledge for a very long time. Her favourite aspect about gardening is watching plants grow over time and feeling accomplished knowing they are growing well.

Limited spaces, so bookings are essential.
