KB Theory are a fresh addition onto the Brisbane music circuit. With the last band member having just turned 18 and releasing their debut single earlier this year, the band are effortlessly sharing stages with some of Queensland’s best. Taking cues from the electronic samples of The 1975, the catchy melodies of The Strokes and the indie rock of Last Dinosaurs, their new single ‘Hope’ showcases the band’s rock background and signature splash of pop.
Since the release of their debut single Lights of Tokyo in February, the band have been playing on as many stages as possible. It’s this tenacity for raucously energetic live performances that has landed the band a show for Rare Finds playing alongside Sunshine Coast’s High Tropics on the 13th of July, which will give fans a taste of what’s to come from their newly announced launch shows (including an all ages show due to fan demand).
Recorded during their second stint in the studio with Tom McIntosh from the Queensland Conservatorium, “Hope” was originally written by Dylan Cattanach while at school. The song is, at its simplest, about being a square peg in a round hole as lead singer Dylan explains, “sometimes you feel that you aren’t in control of your own life and storyline. You’re the support act, living in the background, when you really want to take the step forward and end up the star of your own life and write your own story.”
Foxymoron, a dynamic indie-rock act from Brisbane. The powerhouse combo of Jason Overton (Vocals) and Jayden Lynch (Guitar) is supported by the tight rhythm section of Henry Wilkinson (Bass) and Ben Filmer (Drums). The band performs with engaging stage presence and strong songwriting.
