John Waters Fest 2018 – Female Trouble / Desperate Living

The third annual Brisbane John Waters Fest is back for one night only!

In the 1980s, Metro Arts was the only cinema in town which would screen the early John Waters classics. By special request from international contacts, Kristian Fletcher is bringing two of these infamous cult movies back to the big screen…

FEMALE TROUBLE – screening 6:30 pm
A spoiled schoolgirl runs away from home, gets pregnant while hitch-hiking, and ends up as a fashion model for a pair of beauticians who like to photograph women committing crimes. Starring Divine.

DESPERATE LIVING – screening 8:15 pm
A neurotic woman murders her husband with the help of her maid and they escape to Mortville, a homeless community ruled over by a fascist queen.
Starring Mink Stole and Edith Massey – the Egg Lady – as Queen Carlotta.

Strictly 18+

Officially reorgnised by John Waters himself!
