The Japanese Film Festival
Grab the popcorn – The Japanese Film Festival (JFF) is back! Presented by The Japan Foundation in Sydney, the JFF started in 1997 with three free film screenings and is now one of the largest celebrations of Japanese films in the world.
In celebration of The Japanese Film Festival’s 25th year, the JFF team are thrilled to return to cinemas and share the very best in Japanese cinema with Brisbane audiences. From November 11-21, JFF will be playing cinematic gems at Palace Barracks Cinemas and Palace James St Cinemas. Get your drama fix with Hokusai, experience anime magic with The Deer King, or immerse yourself in romance with Hold Me Back.
The festival has enjoyed great success over the years, with the opportunity to showcase a vast variety of cinematic delights from 35-mm film prints to newly released titles currently screening in Japan. JFF brings out special guests from Japan and Australia for Q&A evenings and film screenings, as well as programs events for audiences to enjoy Japanese traditional and pop culture.
