Japan Festival Byron Bay


The Japan Festival Byron Bay takes place on Sunday 17th November and is a unique celebration to showcase Japanese culture for the local community. There will be workshops to join and learn about traditional crafts and techniques, performers of dance and music from Sydney and Japan and exhibitions all bringing Japanese life to Byron Bay. There will be a market village, activities for children and adults to join in and many food stalls offering delicious Japanese cuisine. The festival will give everyone from the Byron Shire community the opportunity to share and understand the Japanese culture which has been handed down by generations over thousands of years.

The festival is free and open to the public. It will be located at Main Beach and the Byron Bay Surf Club and is supported by Byron Shire Council and community organisations. Visitors to the event will be able to engage in Japanese traditional and modern culture through workshops and at market stalls including crafts and food .The main stage will include Traditional Music performed by Local Byron Bay Wagakki Band and Taiko (Japanese traditional drumming) group. Come along and join in the celebration and enjoy a great day in Byron Bay.
