James Street Food & Wine Trail

Mark Thursday July 28 through to Sunday July 31 on your calendars, foodie pals – the James St Food + Wine Trail is back and it’s bringing a whole load of drool-worthy goodness to the buzzing strip over four days. The epicurean extravaganza will start with its Trail Days events, which are individual outings featuring some killer culinary talent. On Thursday, Mosconi will be kicking off festivities with a Barolo + Game Dinner, with head chef Catherine Anders crafting a six-course feast paired with top-notch Italian wines, while Gerard’s Bar will also be getting in on the action early, with a Lebanese Pizza Party dishing out disco hits and manouche fro 4:00 pm until late. The Green will host an after-dark Middle Eastern feast on Friday July 29, while sister venue ESSA will host a four-course champagne lunch on Saturday July 30. Tippler’s Tap will be celebrating all three days, with craft-beer paddles, baskets of wings and delectable dippers available for a steal. On Sunday July 31, James Street will shut down between Arthur Street and McLachlan Street for its crown-jewel event – the Market Day. From 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, the street will double as an alfresco dining room, complete with 19 pop-up food stalls, 13 bars and five live music stages. Harvey’s Bar & Bistro will be hosting a ticketed four-course lunch on the day, featuring Taittinger champagne paired with a menu designed by PJ McMillian. In addition to the phenomenal fare, the James St Food + Wine Trail Market Day will feature DJ sets, live jazz and creative workshops, as well as seedling planting, face painting and activities for the kids.
