Jamboree Festival

Jamboree Festival

In 1967/1968, for the first time in Queensland History the Centenary Suburbs was inundated with around 16,000 Boy Scouts from 19 countries to participate in the 8th Australian Scout Jamboree. They were spread wide across the land with many suburbs, in particular Jamboree Heights and streets named in this event’s honour.

For many a Jamboree is the pinnacle of Scouting as they are away from home taking responsibility for themselves and meeting others from around the world. The atmosphere created by a Jamboree is electric and one that many remember for the rest of their lives.

2018 will be the 50th anniversary of the first Queensland Jamboree. Come along and celebrate at the Jamboree Festival.
