Echoes of a still life Exhibition Opening

Echoes of a still life Exhibition Opening

Brisbane artist J Valenzuela Didi uses urban spaces and metropolitan landscapes to explore the transience of life. In his latest exhibition, Echoes of a still life, ageing houses, forgotten factories, traffic lights, clotheslines and fences transform into hallowed monuments deifying our isolation and impermanence.

Didi draws on the emergence of patterns and geometric shapes to explore common scenes as signposts of modern life. In his paintings, familiar urban landscapes become haunting and alien reminders of the beauty and character of the present-day.

Echoes of a still life will be held at the Lethbridge Gallery on Latrobe Terrace, with the opening night set for the 23 August from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
