Island Currents

Island Currents

Located at the Queensland Art Gallery’s Watermall is the new indigenous art exhibition, Island Currents. This exhibition will be an incredible look at the culture and artistic talent of artists of the North Queensland and Torres Strait. Incorporating painting and sculpture work from women of Bentinck Island and the Gulf of Carpentaria, Island Currents will also include performance objects made from materials in the area.

This exhibition will run from October 11, 2014 to November 1, 2015, so there is plenty of time to catch it. Don’t forget though, Island Currents will be an incredibly interesting and informative collection of art from rural Australia.
