Anyone who knows their art biz will be familiar with a little old name called Ironlak – the brand is loved and respected within the global art community at large. Following the opening of its flagship Queensland store in Queen Street Mall last year, Ironlak has taken to Chermside for a second offering – and they’re throwing a little party to celebrate.

On Thursday April 13, the Ironlak Art & Design Chermside store will come alive with a DJ, food, beer and wine to get the party started. The biggest talking point is multidisciplinary artist DOES completing the store’s centrepiece mural live – this is something you won’t want to miss out on.

The store will include test benches where customers can ‘try before they buy’ – whether it is a pencil, a paint pen, a tube of acrylic paint, or even a can of aerosol paint, nothing is off limits.

The design of the new space is titled ‘Black Japan’ and is inspired by urban Japanese wooden homes – featuring large amounts of black in line with the brand’s aesthetic.
